Wedding Planning Isn't So Bad; Or Is It?

It's no surprise that we all want that dream wedding that we see on social media. Scrolling through Instagram pages like TheKnot, Today's Bride, or Black Bride1998 will make you want to completely blow the budget! But what I've found from planning my California Destination Wedding is that you can create your own traditions while staying within budget

It's super easy to get caught up in spending money in the wrong places. To avoid that, my fiance' and I sat down and literally wrote down what truly mattered to us versus what everyone thinks we should have. So that meant spending a little extra to make sure we have a great photographer vs buying $2500 worth of gold silverware or an expensive dress.

This process can be very care-free if you PLAN and most importantly give yourself time!

5 TIPS for Planning your wedding without breaking the bank.

  1. Open a bank account strictly for your wedding and begin saving 2 years in advance.
  2. Spend $$ where it matters by creating a "To-Do List" from important to least important with estimated prices for each.
  3.  Make a decision and STICK TO IT.
  4. Every little detail matters! Let your creative juices flow by adding your personal touch.
  5. Every now and then be still. Take time and really soak up all the sacrifices you and your fiancĂ© made. This planning stuff can get in the way of what marriage really is. Acknowledge all of the accomplishments, love on each other and get ready to tackle the next obstacle.
